Facing Disappointments in People

Image
In this life, we will all face disappointments. People, no matter how much they love us, can fail us. Promises can be broken, words can wound, and human strength can falter. That is because people are fallible. We are all imperfect beings in need of grace. But God is different. He is perfect, unchanging, and completely trustworthy. He is infallible — without error, without weakness, and without failure. His Word stands firm, His promises never return void, and His love endures forever. The psalmist reminds us of this truth: “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118:8). When we put our hope in people alone, we set ourselves up for disappointment. But when we anchor our faith in God, we find stability, peace, and assurance no matter what happens around us. People may walk away, but God never will. People may change, but God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So when others fail you, don’t let it harden your heart. Instead, let it drive you ...

Difficult Decisions & the Mercies of God!

Image
Walking with the Lord has often brought me to crossroads where the choices before me were anything but easy. Yet, I have learned to lean not on my own understanding but to trust in the Lord’s leading (Proverbs 3:5–6). Sometimes, God removes people from our lives, or removed me from theirs, and though it hurt, I have come to understand that it was for a reason. His mercy and wisdom far exceed my own. I have experienced firsthand that when God allows someone to step out of our lives, or when He calls us to step away, it is not always a sign of failure. Many times, it is His protection or His preparation for something we cannot yet see. What feels like loss in the moment can be part of His greater plan for our good. Abiding in Christ Through these seasons, the anchor of my soul has been abiding in Jesus Christ. He said: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”. John 15:7 There have been times when I have wept before the Lord, unc...

Daring to Be Different: A Life Set Apart for Christ

Image
Living for Christ in today's world means learning to live and walk against the current. The culture around us constantly pushes values, lifestyles, and beliefs that oppose God's truth. Whether it's in your workplace, family, friendships or even your personal journey with the Lord, being a Christian often requires you to swim upstream. But we are not called to follow the world - we are called to follow Jesus. Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14: "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it"  Each believer has their own unique walk with the Lord; this journey is not always easy. It involves denying yourself, carrying your cross, and choosing truth when it's not convenient. At times, you may feel alone or misunderstood, but your obedience honors God.  Jesus also said in Luke 9:23 "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily,  and f...

Christ-Centered Counseling: Help, Hope, and Healing

Image
Biblical counseling is not just about advice or emotional support—it is Christ-centered, Scripture-based guidance that applies the truth of God's Word to the real struggles of life. It acknowledges the emotional, mental, spiritual, and relational pain people go through, but points to the Word of God as the ultimate source of healing, transformation, and deliverance. Unlike secular therapy, which often focuses on self-empowerment or humanistic solutions, biblical counseling focuses on:  🔹God’s sovereignty  🔹Our identity in Christ  🔹The power of repentance, renewal, and the Holy Spirit  🔹The healing authority of Scripture It’s counseling that leads us to the cross, not just to coping mechanisms. Not temporary fixes by placing Band-Aids on wounds but getting to the root from the inside out. Physical wounds heal from the inside out, and we need to get to the deep places in our souls for emotional healing and wellbeing. That is no easy process, but if you want true f...

Redeemed to Speak: Why Your Testimony Matters

Image
One of the most powerful ways we can encourage others is by sharing our own testimony. Yet many believers hold back, often out of shame or fear of judgment. But God's Word tells us that shame has no place in the life of a redeemed child of God. “Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace, for you will not be humiliated.”  Isaiah 54:4 (NIV) When Jesus went to the Cross, He bore our shame. When we truly repent and put our faith in Him, we are made new—completely transformed by His grace. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”  2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”  Romans 8:1 (ESV) Our testimonies are not meant to be hidden. They are given to us to heal, to glorify God, and to encourage others—especially those walking through similar struggles. Our stories become relatable tools that God uses to bring hope, restorati...
