Moving Forward by Faith Like Caleb
“We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
Numbers 13:30
Caleb stands out as a man of faith when others trembled in fear. While ten spies saw giants and impossibilities, Caleb saw God’s promises. His confidence wasn’t in himself, but in the Lord who had already spoken. Faith gave him vision beyond what his eyes could see.
When life feels uncertain, or when the future looks intimidating, we can remember Caleb. At 85 years old, he still declared his strength and asked for the hill country that God had promised him (Joshua 14:10–12). His trust never wavered, and his endurance was rewarded.
Faith is like a sculpture, shaped over time, refined through challenges, and built to endure. Just as a sculptor chisels away at stone to reveal something lasting, God uses our wilderness seasons and trials to carve us into people of steadfast courage.
Reflection:
●Am I seeing my situation through the eyes of fear, or through the promises of God?
●How has God been shaping my faith through past trials?
●What “giants” am I facing that require me to trust God more deeply?
Prayer:
Lord, give me the faith of Caleb. Help me to see not the obstacles before me, but the promises You have spoken over my life. Shape me through each season so that I may stand firm, courageous, and ready to move forward by faith. Amen.
